Intervention orders are court orders that help protect people who have been harmed, threatened or abused by another person.
There are two types of intervention orders:
- Family violence intervention orders . Family violence intervention orders help protect a person from a family member who is being violent towards them.
- Personal safety intervention orders . Personal safety intervention orders help protect a person from someone other than a family member that makes them feel unsafe.
You and your family can be protected by an intervention order even if there has been no physical violence.
If you are in immediate danger, call 000 and ask for the police.
